Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets

The Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets is responsible for executing the organization’s strategy by overseeing DLP's balance sheet, mitigating risk, minimizing our WACC, and maximizing revenue. This leader will drive overall strategy, product development, and the capitalization plan to achieve our goals.

What you have already achieved: (Requirements) 

  • Extensive experience in direct multifamily existing and ground-up development project finance
  • Extensive experience in lender finance, including warehouse facilities, loan sales, and related areas 
  • Preferred experience in private credit lending and originations 
  • Private fund management experience preferred
  • 5+ years banking experience preferred
  • Preferred experience in credit underwriting
  • Preferred experience in portfolio management / loan servicing 

What you are great at: (Responsibilities)

  • Lead the management of our warehouse facilities and overall loan leverage. 
  • Be an active member of the Investment Committee.
  • Active member of the Credit Committee. Provide exit financing analysis and ensure leverage eligibility is considered in decision-making.
  • Ensure HubSpot is always up to date. 
  • Attend all required meetings and proactively work to provide solutions that enhance the performance of the management company.
  • Lead the development of our lender finance platform for our Bank.
  • Lead and oversee the direct project/transaction financing of deals where DLP has ownership.
  • Analyze asset financials, prepare financial models, and create write-ups for lender submission packages.
  • Lead the process of gathering 4-10 term sheets per loan request, and prepare a debt matrix to compare options with recommendations, including for bridge, construction, and permanent loans.
  • Lead the negotiation of the best debt terms, conditions, and covenants.
  • Manage DLP Lending debt monitoring, including maturities, covenants, and other related aspects.
  • Manage DLP's portfolio balance sheet by mitigating risk and identifying opportunities for supplemental financing and refinancing.
  • Lead lender due diligence and communication throughout the entire loan closing process, including overseeing lender checklist calls.
  • Provide exit financing analysis for DLP loans in your role as a lender.
  • Execute debt placement agreements with sponsors and provide debt placement services on behalf of DLP Elite members.
  • Build and manage Capital Markets directory.
  • Expand the loan sale/securitization platform by leading the rollout and ramp-up of DLP Lending’s multifamily debt platform (“bank” cost of capital).
  • Monitor leverage facilities (including securitizations) and underlying pledged assets for potential curtailments, including maturities/extensions, loan duration, delinquencies, LTV ratios, and other contingent repayment-triggering events.
  • Manage leverage facility data and file management, collateral packages, and post-closing SOP development.
