Robert Peterson

Robert Peterson is the Chief Financial Officer of DLP Capital® and a Partner in the firm. He simultaneously serves as Board Member and Chief Financial Officer of DLP Bancshares Inc., a holding company that owns Community State Bank, a north Florida commercial bank for which Peterson also serves as Vice Chair. Robert brings to these institutions more than 40 years of experience in the commercial, retail, multifamily and residential real estate industries as an accounting and finance expert with extensive asset management and development experience.

Prior to joining DLP Capital® in 2015, Robert served for 17 years in leadership roles with Citinational-Buckeye Building Company and affiliated entities. Robert’s tenure included serving as General Manager and Chief Financial Officer for the organization, which was a collaboration between City National Bank—one of the largest banks in California—and Buckeye Companies, a major Beverly Hills-based commercial office developer, owner, and operator. In his executive role, Robert’s significant accomplishments included planning and directing the abatement, retrofit, and reconstruction of a major 25-story office building in downtown Los Angeles, as well as its 100 percent lease-up. His extensive experience for affiliated entities extended to luxury multifamily properties and condominium conversion projects, with Robert’s expertise ranging from regulatory approvals and acquisition financing to marketing strategy, sales contracts, and more.

Before that, Robert was the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer for Malibu Bay Company, the largest commercial landowner and retail developer in Malibu, where he also served as Director of Leasing for a decade.

Robert began his real estate and finance career at the Buckeye Companies, where he rose to become Vice President of Finance and Information Technologies. At the time, the company was the largest full-service commercial office owner-operator of its kind in the region, with businesses including building contractor, property management, brokerage, and parking facilities, among other operations.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. His recognitions include being named a “CFO of the Year” by Lehigh Valley Business and “Ultimate Finance Executive” by Jacksonville Business Journal.
