Head Of Legal, Portfolio Management & Special Assets
As Senior Counsel at DLP Capital, Ronnell leads the Portfolio Management & Special Assets business unit, managing legal and business matters across secured lending, financing, preferred equity investments, and joint ventures. He advises on asset management and loan servicing operations, oversees dispute resolution and workouts, and structures and negotiates commercial agreements and transactions. Ronnell also guides deals through closing and provides counsel on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management.
While in private practice, Ronnell focused on real estate law at both national and international law firms. Before joining DLP Capital, Ronnell was Vice President & Corporate Counsel at a national real estate investment firm with over $4.5 billion in investment activity. He also served as Assistant General Counsel for an SEC-registered investment adviser and alternative asset manager overseeing $3 billion in assets.
Ronnell earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Finance, magna cum laude, from Illinois State University. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
