Investor Voices From the Extraordinary Family Event

A quick Q&A with investor-speakers at DLP Capital’s Extraordinary Family Event

September 4, 2026

Impact in Action

At the event, we asked them three questions about trust, vision, and their challenge for fellow investors.

Question #1: When evaluating opportunities—whether philanthropic, business, or investment-related—what qualities tend to earn your trust?

Question #2: What made you believe DLP's vision for combining success and significance was worth supporting?

Question #3: If you could challenge DLP investors and families to do one thing differently over the next year, what would it be?

Question #1: When evaluating opportunities—whether philanthropic, business, or investment-related—what qualities tend to earn your trust?
Alignment of values, integrity, and fully living their mission. Anyone can write a compelling vision, leaders actually live it. Are they Living Fully in all areas of life, building a legacy that will outlast them? I also look for a team that is committed to growing smarter, serving deeper, and multiplying impact. DLP’s core values resonated so deeply that my wife said, “It looks like you wrote these.” And Don was even more genuine.

Question #2: What made you believe DLP's vision for combining success and significance was worth supporting?

Over five years of incredible work, I saw integrity up close, real returns for investors, and sincerity behind every decision. This was a company chasing significance, and the success followed. I became an investor myself, and our partnership continues through Ignite 5. When an organization truly believes business can be a force for good, you don’t just build a great company, you build a movement. That’s DLP.

Question #3: If you could challenge DLP investors and families to do one thing differently over the next year, what would it be?

Stop drifting through life. Start designing it. When it comes to Living Fully across the 8 F’s (faith, family, friends, finances, fitness, fulfillment, freedom, and fun), we tend to react more than we lead.

Here’s the challenge: when you’re 100 years old, what will you look back and see you’ve built? What kind of legacy are you creating—not just financially, but in every area of life? To live an extraordinary life at 100, you have to start training for it now: identify where you are, define where you want to go, build the systems to get there, and add the accountability to make it last.

Question #1: When evaluating opportunities—whether philanthropic, business, or investment-related—what qualities tend to earn your trust?
Track record, my intuition about the individuals involved (professionalism and character), and whether I can clearly understand the opportunity.

Question #2: What made you believe DLP's vision for combining success and significance was worth supporting?

We were introduced to DLP Capital through RREAF. We attended the Extraordinary Impact Family Event and were blown away by the experience, the DLP team, and the level of professionalism throughout the event.

No company we’ve encountered pairs this level of success, offering unique real estate investment opportunities,  with such a genuine focus on family, generosity, and a mission built around both investors and residents.

Following that event, we became investors and have continued to increase our investments with DLP. I even encouraged my mother to invest. Now, I get to share my passion for health with the DLP family.

Question #3: If you could challenge DLP investors and families to do one thing differently over the next year, what would it be?

Trust your intuition. Honestly, DLP Capital is a top-notch organization in every respect.

Question #1: When evaluating opportunities—whether philanthropic, business, or investment-related—what qualities tend to earn your trust?
Leadership, mission alignment, and trust.

Question #2: What made you believe DLP's vision for combining success and significance was worth supporting?

It’s the same three things that always earn my trust: strong leadership in Don, a mission worth believing in, and the character behind it. For investors, my challenge is to regularly review and evaluate your commitments, ensuring they remain aligned with your priorities and purpose.

Question #3: If you could challenge DLP investors and families to do one thing differently over the next year, what would it be?

For families, I challenge you to intentionally create memories together and continually invest in mentoring the next generation.

Question #1: When evaluating opportunities—whether philanthropic, business, or investment-related—what qualities tend to earn your trust?

Linda: DLP has a great track record of success without compromising on showing up for their employees, investors, and sponsors. We know Don and Carla personally, that they are Christian witnesses, and how they live out their faith aligns with what Lloyd and I value.

Lloyd: The integrity and quality of their top leaders.

Question #2: What made you believe DLP's vision for combining success and significance was worth supporting?

Linda: My husband Lloyd wrote a book titled From Success to Significance, so this combination is something we’re deeply passionate about! DLP’s vision of combining the two immediately resonated with us.

Lloyd: Their bold creativity and persistence.

Question #3: If you could challenge DLP investors and families to do one thing differently over the next year, what would it be?

Linda: Lean into your personal relationship with God, growing deep roots. I also encourage you to assess what you have that’s priceless and what you’re doing to protect it. Make sure you’re not trading priceless things for valuable ones.

Lloyd: Be more intentional. There is a gap between what most individuals desire and their follow through.

Author & Speaker

Question #1: When evaluating opportunities—whether philanthropic, business, or investment-related—what qualities tend to earn your trust?
We place our trust in people and organizations that are transparent, authentic, and easy to understand. We carefully consider the balance between risk, return, and if their goals and values align with our own beliefs and priorities.

Question #2: What made you believe DLP's vision for combining success and significance was worth supporting?

Traditional thinking often suggests that you can either do well or do good. DLP Capital shows investors that it is possible to do both. Their vision closely aligns with our values and long-term goals—  allowing us to invest in something far greater than our own financial growth.

Question #3: If you could challenge DLP investors and families to do one thing differently over the next year, what would it be?

Seek God first and be intentional about using your resources, talents, and influence to serve others. When our decisions are guided by faith and purpose, we can create a lasting impact, beyond financial success, contributing to meaningful change in the world.
