Corporate Litigation Paralegal

The Corporate Litigation Paralegal will provide high level paralegal and analytical support to in-house attorneys and to the Legal & Compliance Department.  This position is responsible for optimizing attorney efficiency through contract, NDA, and other transactional document review, legal research, litigation, maintaining critical dates to ensure deadlines are met, and general matter management as well as reviewing, negotiating, and preparing a wide variety of agreements and documents.

What you have already achieved: (Requirements) 

  • 5+ years experience as a Paralegal with a background in real estate transactions, contract drafting and review, litigation matter management, corporate governance, and risk mitigation. 
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an acute attention to details and nuances.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects from inception to completion within required scope and deadlines.
  • Ability to efficiently work within team settings but equally capable of working independently.

What you are great at: (Responsibilities)

  • Effectively utilize all department filing technologies and systems.
  • Consistently follow Legal Intake SOP and process requests timely.
  • Coordinate and assist with preparation and review of confidentiality agreements, access agreements, professional services agreements, engagement agreements, vendor agreements, and all other corporate and transactional documents.
  • Prepare first drafts of legal documents for attorney review, including but not limited to, contracts, pleadings, leases, notices, reports and other court documents.
  • Assist in critical analytical tasks related to closing of transactions, such as that relating to due diligence, satisfaction of lender checklists, and anticipating and assisting with issues that may impact closing dates.
  •  Track and calendar key dates, ensuring matters are being worked in a proactive manner.
  • Assist with legal policies, processes and forms to maximize speed and efficiency of the department.
  • Work with Senior Counsel to respond to questions on legal matters from other BU's.
  • Upload executed agreements and COI’s to HighQ.  
  • Maintain critical dates for all agreements. 
  • Send prompt renewal response to BU to determine if agreement should be renewed or terminated.
