Job Description

The Event Manager at DLP Capital is responsible for planning, executing, and managing large-scale events, multi-program events and single day events. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong operational focus who can handle all aspects of event management, from budgeting and logistics to vendor coordination and on-site execution. The Event Manager will report to the Sr. Event Manager and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure that all events align with DLP Capital's goals and deliver exceptional experiences for attendees.

What you have already achieved: (Requirements)

  • 3+ years experience in event management
  • A proven track record of executing events on time and on budget
  • Proficiency in Google Suite of Business Products
  • The ability to creatively problem solve
  • The ability to travel regularly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

What you are great at: (Responsibilities) 

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Marketing, project managers, and the marketing team to ensure that all aspects of event planning and execution are coordinated and aligned with overall marketing goals.
  • Implement and keep an updated comprehensive events calendar, with all upcoming events scheduled and documented.
  • Develop, implement, and constantly update event checklists and processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage all event logistics, including venue selection, food and beverage, audiovisual (AV) setup, transportation, accommodations, and on-site event management for all multi-program events.
  • Oversee large production stages and AV setups for major events, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality presentations.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, speakers, and talent to manage last-minute changes and adjustments during events.
  • Ensure that all you adhere to established processes, timelines, and budget constraints, maintaining consistency and high standards across all events.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring that all events stay within financial constraints while maximizing return on investment (ROI).
  • Review and approve all event-related expenses, ensuring alignment with budgeted amounts. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality and effectiveness of events.
  • Ensure that all events are fully documented and tracked in the project management system (Monday.com).
  • Lead the hiring and coordination of external vendors, including AV providers, caterers, transportation services, and accommodations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners, including food services, conference services, security, and facilities teams.
  • Create and implement event checklists and processes to improve consistency, efficiency, and attendee satisfaction across all events.
  • Develop and implement a feedback and improvement process, using attendee feedback to refine and enhance future events.
  • Work with Leadership to set attendance targets for all events, working closely with marketing and communications teams to drive registration and attendance.
  • Coordinate post-event actions, including working with communications teams to publicize event outcomes and with multimedia teams to complete video edits.
  • Provide detailed reports on event performance, including attendee feedback, budget adherence, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain and update the events calendar, ensuring that all events are scheduled and planned well in advance.
