Deeply rooted in faith and family, Don lives by the words of Luke 12:48: “To whom much is given, much is required.” More than a guiding principle, this verse defines his approach to life, leadership, and service. As a devoted follower of Jesus, a husband, and a father to three sons, Don views every opportunity and resource he’s been entrusted with as a responsibility to serve others.
Don’s passion for community transformation is deeply personal. Born to two loving teenage parents, he experienced the struggles of housing instability firsthand, living in 30+ different homes throughout his childhood and adolescence. These experiences shaped his understanding of how critical safe, stable housing is to a family’s well-being and future. Rather than allowing those early hardships to define him, Don used them as fuel for his life’s mission: to create communities that offer not just shelter, but the opportunity to thrive.
While attending Drexel University in 2006, Don believed he had his future planned, until a mentor encouraged him to explore the world of real estate.. What started as exploring a potential career shift swiftly became a calling with his first sale.. It was more than a transaction; it was a chance to help a woman facing eviction after her rent unexpectedly doubled on the apartment she had called home for more than 20 years. Don found her a home that was accessible for her mobility challenges, and when he learned she had no one to help her move, he stepped in himself. That moment solidified his belief that real estate could be a powerful force for good.
As a recognized thought leader in real estate, entrepreneurship, and impact investing, Don frequently speaks on topics ranging from housing affordability to leadership development and building purpose-driven businesses. In 2025, he was honored among Ernst & Young’s Florida Entrepreneurs of the Year, a prestigious recognition celebrating leaders who are redefining the future through innovation, vision, and disciplined execution
Don is also a USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author, having published two books—Building an Elite Organization and Building an Elite Career—and is currently working on a third titled Building an Extraordinary Organization. In these books, he introduces the Elite Execution System (EES), a practical framework he developed based on years of entrepreneurial experience to enable leaders to build and maintain disciplined, aligned, and high-impact organizations. The system provides actionable tools and strategies for scaling businesses, driving results, and cultivating a culture of accountability.
He also shares additional insights through his podcast, Impact with Don Wenner, where he hosts conversations with fellow leaders on topics like faith, leadership, business strategy, and personal growth. These discussions inspire listeners to pursue excellence and meaningful success while staying grounded in purpose and integrity.
Don and his wife, Carla, have been married for over 14 years and divide their time between St. Augustine, Florida, and Asheville, North Carolina, where they raise their three sons—Donny, Alex, and Jake. Together, they’ve set a bold family goal to spend 1,000 extraordinary days in 100 different places before Donny heads off to college. From coaching youth sports to traveling, hiking, and playing pickleball, Don stays grounded through faith, family, and a deep commitment to living a life of significance, inspiring others to do the same.
