Director of Business Development
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for expanding DLP's business by establishing new relationships, sourcing deals, creating new products, and identifying new avenues of growth. This senior leader will be responsible for growing our Elite memberships through organic business development activity.
What you have already achieved: (Requirements)
- 10+ years Business Development experience
- Experience in CRE capital stack placements
- Network of industry contacts within the multifamily, Outdoor RV and Home Builder communities
- Knowledge of private capital and institutional investor fund raising
- Ability to work independently and within a team to provide a WOW experience to our sponsors
What you are great at: (Responsibilities)
- Identify at least 10 new sponsor leads through networking, cold-calling, and other sales activities.
- Set at least 3 meetings per week with Relationship Management and potential new sponsors.
- Identify new avenues of growth for DLP Lending with a focus on innovation.
- Meet (f2f, zoom, phone) with at least 5 potential sponsors per week to gather information on Lending needs and create solutions to meet their needs (prior to RM meetings).
- Provide secondary support to the relationships throughout the initial DLP Closing process.
- Work with the DLP marketing team to ensure proper branding and messaging of all Lending business development activity.
- Prospect, cultivate, present and close Elite Membership opportunities.
- Prioritize your workday around prospecting, business development, and origination of loans, LOC’s, and preferred equity for our core clients.
- Attend industry and real estate investor events. Present to real estate investors, real estate brokerages, lending brokers, builders, outdoor RV and Multi-Family Operators.
- Complete the Sponsor Screen process and smoothly transition to the Relationship Manager. Gather information from the sponsor to evaluate alignment with DLP Capital's core values.
- Drive attendance and new membership signup at Elite and Prosperity Events.
- Drive sponsor EES engagement and utilization including attending live and virtual events, compass day, EES tools, etc. for those who opt in.
- Leverage F2F meetings, Zoom, phone calls, email and other social media to source and close new relationships.
- Update and maintain accuracy calling reports, logs and information on leads, contacts and opportunities in CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot).
