Senior Director of Asset Management

The Senior Director of Asset Management serves as a key strategic and operational leader, acting as the owner’s representative across a diverse portfolio of assets, including multifamily, single-family rentals, RV resorts, hospitality communities, vacation rentals, and other commercial real estate. This hands-on leader directly manages a substantial portfolio while also overseeing a team of portfolio managers and analysts to drive optimal performance across all assets.  With an ownership mindset, this role is accountable for executing and exceeding each asset’s strategic business and financial plan. The Senior Director partners closely with internal departments—including risk & underwriting, finance, accounting, development, and construction—to ensure full lifecycle success and value creation. A results-driven leader, this individual is also responsible for holding third-party property managers accountable, analyzing monthly performance, and implementing corrective actions to ensure all assets consistently exceed investor expectations and contribute to DLP’s mission of building prosperity through real estate.

What you have already achieved: (Requirements)

  • 10+ years of experience in real estate asset management, preferably across multiple asset classes including multifamily, single-family rentals, RV resorts, hospitality, vacation rentals, and commercial real estate.
  • Proven track record of direct asset management of a substantial real estate portfolio with measurable value creation. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and scaling high-performing teams, including asset managers, analysts and property management team.
  • Deep understanding of real estate operations, financial modeling, budgeting, capital planning, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Strong command of strategic business planning and execution across diverse geographies and asset types with a focus on strong value add and new lease up multifamily communities.
  • Ability to travel to assets on a regular basis
  • Passion for impact-driven real estate investing and a strong desire to serve communities, team members, and investors. 

What you are great at: (Responsibilities) 

  • Proactively maintain and review ongoing performance reports related to the financial and operational performance of the asset or portfolio in conjunction with budgeted expectations, operational metrics & underwriting returns.
  • Act as owner’s representative on assigned portfolio, recommend and review business and capital plans. 
  • Assess performance of the assets relative to original underwriting strategies or business plans and industry benchmarks. Report, present findings and action recommendations to management on monthly and quarterly performance relative to the original underwriting strategies or business plans and industry benchmarks.
  • Complete and review monthly variance reports and draft and implement corrective action plans for any properties under budget. 
  • Lead and develop the asset management team members.
